For the past couple of weeks, Anthony and I have been watching The Great British Baking Show on Netflix. Like many cooking shows, a set of people are chosen to show off their skills, and each episode, one person is eliminated if they don’t quite meet the standards of what the judges are looking for. Both addicting and dangerous, the show inspires the need to test out new recipes that may or may not turn out as pictured in the mind. (Google ‘Nailed It’) Pages: Page 1, Page 2

Anthony and I have always been about experiences. Having all of the ‘stuff’ we need to make our house a home, we’d rather go out and make new memories than collect more things that we don’t really need that will eventually end up in storage. Because life is crazy, and time just slips away (how is it almost June already?!?!), we haven’t gotten the chance to do this as often as we like. So when Anthony sent me a text asking if I had any plans for that coming Thursday after work, he told me to be sure to leave the evening...

Coming up with different dinners every night can be challenging. This is something I’m sure we can all relate to. Especially after a long day, spending an hour in the kitchen cooking can be the last thing we want to do. I am all for simple, yet tasty homemade meals. Within the last few weeks, I’ve made a goal to make two new dinners every night, trying out recipes I’ve saved over the years that have taken a backburner. Some of them get followed exactly as written, and others get tweaked and adjusted to make another variation.

Chicken Cordon Bleu has always been one of those meals that I’ve enjoyed, but never really think to make. The first time I was introduced to it was when I was probably around 10 years old. It was a breaded pocket filled with processed chicken, ham, and swiss cheese and wrapped in a plastic wrapper. It got stuck in the microwave and eaten like a burrito. Being the picky child that I was, I was afraid to try it at first. Once I got the courage to take that first bite, I was glad that I did. To my 10-year-old...

Spring is here. At least, according to the calendar, it is. In reality, not so much, In the past week alone, Ohio has seen just about every weather event possible, from a nearly 80-degree day, sunshine, rain, thunderstorms, tornados, snow, sleet….you get the picture. It may be April, but some days still feel like February. On the colder days, comfort food and warm soup are craved.

Life has been crazy lately. Between work, keeping up with stuff around the house, and everything else that needs to be done, it seems like the days just don’t have enough hours to get everything done and still have time to relax. I haven’t had the chance to try out any new baking recipes lately, either. I usually default to my chocolate chip cookies. Banana bread is frequently made if we have some banana’s that have been left ignored and unloved for a little too long.
