Fruited Danishes

Strawberry Cheese Filling
Recipe from: A Kitchen Addiction
Filling for 12 Danishes


For the Strawberry Filling

2 cup chopped strawberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Cheesecake Filling

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla


Combine strawberries, sugar, and nutmeg in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low and allow to simmer for 25-35 minutes or until the strawberries soften and mixture thickens.

Remove from heat and allow to cool

Beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Set aside. 


Apple Filling
Filling for 12 Danishes

2-3 apples peeled, cored, and chopped
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoons ground nutmeg


Place chopped apples and butter in a medium saucepan.

Combine brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix well. Add the mixture to the saucepan and stir.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook until the apples are tender; about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow the filling to cool.
